Rochdale undoubtedly has a very strong representation within the town centre of high quality independents which, historically, has given Rochdale its enduring character. Within a thriving and prosperous town centre, their sustainability is ensured. However, independents struggle in a town centre that is in decline and with a proliferation of charity/discount shops as in Rochdale.
Rochdale Independents was launched to practise co-operative marketing, business 2 business networking whilst using their combined voice to advocate meaningful change within the town centre as well as ensuring that all independents benefit from initiatives designed to help them whether that be business support, seminars, PR opportunities and the like.
Rochdale Independents - Weathering The Storm Together
Simon Danczuk Rochdale’s Labour Parliamentary Candidate advises: “Independent retailers are the backbone of Rochdale’s town centre offer. They provide unique services and personalised customer relations that you just don’t get from major chain stores. The future of our town centre should be built around encouraging and supporting more independent retailers. I’m delighted to see that Kelly and Paul have taken the initiative to develop a website that helps this important sector.”
Rochdale’s Member of Parliament, Paul Rowen, also said “I am delighted that you have set up this website and with the work you have been doing over the last few months. If there is anything you want me to do I would be only too happy to oblige.”
